Description: A report on the building of the Hirakud Dam, one of the schemes undertaken by the government of India to develop the country’s potential resources. The film illustrates building activity at the actual dam site and the dykes and canals which are being constructed to harness the waters of the Mahanadi River and bring new highways, bridges, rail-line, electricity, thriving townships and prosperity to a valley and its people.
