derived from prisoner of war interrogation has a tremendous value in the successful prosecution of any campaign in other words you've got to know your enemy in order to deal with him now as you all know of course the value of these prisoners comes from the fact that they lack any security consciousness whatsoever once they are turned in they're flattered and amazed by the excellent treatment which the peace and the medical staff give them and in turn they feel that they should in turn help us in any way they can and without any hesitation whatsoever they speak absolutely everything they know of course we know that this is an exceptional group of prisoners they have been cooperative right from the start and it is also interesting in that this series of captures was it a very timely time in other words the men were picked up when there was much talk of an attack being launched against our forces here on Bougainville these prisoners confirmed that information and in turn gave us a great deal of other information which we of which we had no knowledge whatsoever this information has been checked since then and that is found to be reliable all the way through and I think it is a
