A dramatic study of Britain in transition. Uses film narration and interviews with inhabitants to tell the story of the tradition-bound Isle of Dogs region in London, and the ultra-modern, planned town of Stevenage, thirty miles away. Shows the transitions in living and working that have taken place in England since World War II, and the effects of those transitions on the people of the country.
