Next, a snowy hill with barren trees is panned by the camera, with some images dissolving into each other. The muddy street of a village is shown, with different angles of the same street intercut. Women hang their wash outside. The woman in the dress seen at the beginning of the film stands in the street. Color closeups of her face and neck and a pan of her body are intercut with the snowy hill and village street scenes.
