This film takes students to West Virginia, where they will follow miners down into the mine and learn how they take coal from the earth. And meet the men and women who work the mines, spending eight hours a day underground. Where do these people live and how do they feel about the risks and rewards of their work? Students will find out as they come to know a minder and his family, visit with them in their home, and travel with them, as they go about their lives in their community.
