Description: Come along as IBM shows off their new Electronic Data Processing Machines, and the history of computers leading up to that point. Beginning with the Columbia University Statistical Calculator in 1929, up to the IBM 701 "Defense Calculator" Electronic Data Processing Machine. This film was released in late 1953. Lightly corrected colors/exposure curve. Being Kodachrome I, it has high contrast and a prominent grain structure. Registration wasn't perfect on this print, it seems like the sprocket hole punch was slightly off-spec as they are not all perfectly in-line as they should be. Audio extracted with AEO-light, EQ curve applied. In retrospect I probably should have done a click filter as well. Regarding commercial usage of scan, please reach out. 0:00 Introduction 4:21 The Electronic Data Processor 6:53 1944 Harvard Calculator 9:47 1949 Card-Programmed Calculator 10:24 IBM's Developments 12:47 Solving Problems of Today 18:07 The Components of Tomorrow
