People of Hawaii

Description: Portrays some of the ways in which American industrial civilization has influenced native Hawaiian culture. An introduction to certain major aspects of modern life in Hawaii: scientific agriculture as exemplified in the best pineapple and sugar-cane plantations; small-scale native craftsmanship; the blending of many ethnological types which comprise the modern Hawaiian population and the survival of fragments of an earlier Hawaiian culture in present day recreational activities.
