Pearson Island

Description: Pearson Island, in the Great Australian Bight, supports a varied native fauna. Sea-lions live there permanently, and the sea birds include penguins, terns, oyster-catchers and Cape Barron geese. Saltbush and she-oak forest on higher ground have land birds and a native rat and wallaby extinct elsewhere. Commentary by Roger Cardwell.
