Description: Parker Adderson is Union Army spy who is captured behind enemy lines at the end of the Civil War. Adderson's impending execution causes him to undergo abrupt character changes. There is a vicious battle with the Confederate General, the death of an innocent man, and finally a midnight execution that violates all traditional honor codes. Based on the tale by Ambrose Bierce, the teleplay was written and directed by Arthur Barron. From the American Short Story Series SERIES.
