unsurpassed for rugged beauty is the Pacific coastline of our Great Northwest all along the shores of the western edge of our continent white crested waves forever beat against gnarled rocks and see sculptured cliffs here perhaps more than anywhere else the visitor senses the free spirit of the far west a scenic highway runs close to the sea offering a constantly changing panorama of surf and sand beaches and frolicking children a perfect combination and pillars of rock carved by the sea make the broad sandy beaches all the more enjoyable when the tide is low everyone turns out to dig for razor clams got him it's not the easiest work in the world but it's rewarding here's the result delicious razor clams to gladden the heart of any gourmet offshore sea lions frisk around on the rocks protected by the government they have the times of their lives undisturbed by their closeness to man maybe they enjoy the scenery too who knows other rocks just offshore our nesting grounds for millions of seabirds kinda sloppy landings their fellows occasionally out of the broad Pacific Rise the bulky forms of Wales monarchs of the seven seas for countless ages notice how close this whale is to the shore for the most spectacular scenic attraction along the shores of our Northwest are the waves themselves pounding the shore says they have for millions of years they produce ever-changing dramatic effects it's an interesting seeing this shoreline something you'll want to see when you visit our Great Northwest
