This most engaging of our sea mammals is born and lives its entire life in the ocean. We are shown the mother's devoted care and feeding of the pups, and their playful antics as they are growing up and begin their own constant search for food, with no lessening of the joys of being alive. Finally, there is a dramatic rescue of an otter pup by a human. The film includes unusual and beautiful underwater photography of these graceful swimmers.
