Description: Records the development of the machinery and arts of the motion picture, from the earliest suggestions of Leonardo Da Vinci to the perfected a tonal motion picture of Thomas Edison. Shows the thaumatrope, zoetrope, phenakistoscope, proxinoscope, and the work of Plateau, Daguerre, Muybridge, Marey, Edison, Armata, Dickson, and others. Includes scenes made as early as 1880 and some early naval historical pictures of the great white fleet, the submarine 'Holland' and 19th century Marines.
