Description: "Hot Dog" was a fast-paced, educational Saturday morning children's television series that aired on NBC from September 12, 1970, to September 4, 1971. This episode (not complete) is specifically answering the question of how an orange gets its juice. Takes young viewers inside a citrus processing and packaging plant to show how oranges are harvested, washed, industrially squeezed, and packaged into cartons. Created by Frank Buxton and co-produced by Peanuts animator Lee Mendelson, "Hot Dog" was affectionately known as a "program about stuff". The concept was inspired by Buxton's travels visiting various factories and was designed to answer kids' questions about the mechanics behind everyday objects. The show used a creative mix of upbeat cinematography, live-action factory tours, and a groovy soundtrack provided by the American rock band The Youngbloods.
