Complete Record: Women in the working place. Female television announcer talks about the female sex in the modern world and how women constitute more than half the population- women doing various jobs, gymnast, pilots, lion trainer,factory workers-- kindergarten, kids (boys and girls) playing with each other, a girl tying a bow on a boys head, lots of girls with bows on their heads as was mandatory in a soviet kindergarten, TV announcer takes an interview with a kindergarten teacher, kids are painting with brushes, little girl picking a painting brush, children’s drawing shown in concession, children winning and receiving awards for their drawings, flower in a see-through box is awarded to them along something else---- now we see children of a slight older age of about 7 and now they are in school- the teacher of these seven year olds is Zoya Perushina who left college and volunteered in active service when the WW2 broke out as did many women who volunteered their services eihter as nurses or partisans. Zoya was a partisan who got captured by the Germans and escaped-- teen boys playing soccer--- at victory day people come out to selebrate, Zoya is awarded for her brave actions during WW2-- close-ups of young ladies talking, factory and women working there, shows the ensemble group that is organized by the factory, more shots of the factory-- cut back to classroom of Leningrad Textile Institute, ---- shots of an open field in central asia, woman walking in a big white hat, some huts on the field, a little casahk girl pulling a horse behind, old casahk woman all wrapped in white sitting with other women drinking tea, old casahk women making fabric by hand, working in the fields, doing hard domestic labor, Takjik or Uzbek women walking all covered up, we see the streets of Alma-Ata, young, old, slavic and kahzak people walking around,-- phone booths specifically made for long distance calls--- factory of fabrics-- showcase of swim suits, -- Varvara Orlova director of a factory that produces Soviet fasions, garmets are presented to the comitee and to director Orlova and are decided upon, TV announcer interviews Varvara Orlova-- big auditorium women are getting awarded something by the soviet party-- Lydia Novna chaiman of modern collective farm, Minsk Tractor Works, a overview of a lot of tractors, tractor being lifted up by a crane, a close-up and backaway shot of fields of wheat, tractors collecting wheat--- Kiev Opera House seasonal performance 1970-71, first nights performance of Rossini’s “Barber of Serville” w/ Evgenia Neroshivchenko------- Lithuania--- aerial shots of the a city, birds eye perspective of people walking around, cafe for children, a mother and a daughter walk into such a cafe, the inside shot, waitress is serving them drinks. The mother is Urata Norvayshene is a medical instructor her husband is a physician, they shot three films together and all recieved awards at amateur film festival. International Ballroom Dancing Contest for the Amber Prize. One couple starts with a waltz and all the other join in, switch to a more upbeat dance. Most dances are performed in big poofy dresses. Showcasing all the trophies of the Norvayshene couple that started off the contest. An interview with the couple, they talk about they’re relationship with dancing, we see them walking with their daughter into a museum, reading with her daughter. Children drawing on the ground in little squares, the camera pullsa up and back from them and we see the overall picture, then we get a close up of the children’s drawing. A close up of a child’s face, then of flowers, woman tending to these flowers, then we switch over to a woman hairdresser, then we see a woman technician, then we get a factory working woman, a woman conductor, then just a woman with a baby in her arms. A shot of the cosmos and a mother with her daughter talking through some king of a phone system with her husband who is in space and talking to them from a space ship. The Narrator lady gives her conclusion speech back in her studio.
