Complete Record: LS of East London EXT. LS of boys getting out of school. They play games and run around. One boy is picked on until another boy comes along and walks with him. EXT MS of boy walking through market. He finds a glass marble on the ground and picks it up. He sees a girl he knows and they look at toys together. They jump in a truck and get a ride home with the boys dad. The girls grandmother takes her into their apartment as the boy and his father go into theirs. The father has to go on a trip so his wife and the boy bid a farewell to him as he drives off in his truck. Back inside, the boy finds the glowing glass marble on the ground again and wishes that his homework was done. Magically, it is done. He now realizes that he has a magic marble on his hands. The boy goes outside to play and brings his marble along. He wishes that he has someone to play with and the same girl appears. She doesn’t know hoe she got there but the boy explains about the magic marble. He discovers that the marble only works every once in a while. He wishes for a doll at the girl’s request and it works. They find out that it only works when the person making the wish rubs it. The boy goes home and has great fun wishing for different things around the house. He redecorates. When his mother returns, she freaks out. The landlord walks by asking for the rent and gets angry that they have enough money for new things but not for rent. The boy wishes that the landlord would leave and it works. End of first reel.
