Oil Films in Action

Using a transparent plastic bearing block, shows how oil film pressures vary at different points around the circumference of a journal, and proportionally with the load. Demonstrates that viscosity and journal speeds have no effect on oil film pressures. Illustrates the action of converging oil films, or fluid wedges.
