Shows the mechanism of the obstetric hemorrhage, mainly cases of hypofibrinogenemia, the methods of hematrogic and blood chemical examinations, the emergency treatments at delivery and after parturition and periodic management and guidance for the pregnant. Emphasizes that in Japan today, an acute shortage of blood for transfusion is posing a grave social problem.
