Ortigas the father of Uruguayan Independence Uruguay's presidential Palace houses the hemisphere's only government headed not by a man but by a committee of nine Executives if Uruguay's 19th century was turbulent and divisive her 20th century has been stable and utterly democratic her people are mostly of European descent primarily Spanish and Italian but also British [Music] [Applause] [Music] Gauchos here are the genuine article the way they dress the way they are has nothing to do with tourism foreign nation that big city types from Montevideo dress in the traditional costume of a Sunday
