Naval Cadets at Iowa State College (1941-1943)

Description: These films clips present scenes of Naval cadets at Iowa State College (University) during World War II. (1941) ‐ Navy V‐12 recruits march across a snowy campus after arriving as civilians, Navy "Boots" arrive for Electrical and Diesel Schools and muster on central campus, a review of the Diesel, Electrical and V‐12 cadets, and the Navy physical education class. (1942) ‐ Review of Navy cadets as they march in the area now occupied by Beyer Gym and Howe Hall, also shows survey instruction. (1943) ‐ Military personnel pose for a photo in front of Beardshear Hall, Army ASTP inspection on playfield east of women's residence halls (Barton Hall), the Navy V‐12 unit passes in front of Gilman Hall, review of troops north of State Gym, and instruction on use of survey equipment.
