Must We Have Noise?

Without narration or dialogue, this film focuses on the sounds--both natural and artificial--that have become a part of our daily existence: alarm clocks, electrical appliances, automobiles, trucks, tractors, airplanes, trains, radios, television sets, record players, telephones and blasting machinery. At the peak of this clamor, the film cuts away to the buzzing of a bee as it alights on a flower; birds chirp and cows moo, and two young boys watch a family of ducks swim almost silently through a stream. Amidst this setting, the question appears on the screen: "Must we have noise"?
