Description: Teaching Film Custodians abridged classroom version of a Cavalcade of America television episode, "Mr. Peale's Dinosaur" (season 2, episode 13), which originally aired December 29th, 1953 on ABC-TV. Dramatizes the work of Charles Willson Peale, an American painter, soldier, scientist, inventor, politician and naturalist, in founding the first natural history museum in the United States at Philadelphia in 1797 and his excavation of the complete skeleton of a prehistoric mastodon as a museum exhibit.
