Description: Mowgli's Brothers is a 1976 television animated special directed by American animator Chuck Jones. It tells a story about a human baby called Mowgli who is adopted by jungle wolves, from whom he learns about love, justice, and the jungle code of loyalty. He must eventually assert his humanity to save his wolf parents from a tiger's malevolent influence. A largely faithful adaptation of the first chapter of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, it originally aired on CBS on February 11, 1976. Jones also directed adaptations of two other The Jungle Book stories, "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" and "The White Seal", in 1975. (See links below,) Though of the story, there are some notable changes in Jones's version. Differences include expanded roles for Baloo and Tabaqui, and that Shere Khan is a white tiger without a lame leg. The characters that don't appear in this adaptation are Kaa, Hathi, The Bander-log and Chil. Kipling, Rudyard, 1865-1936.
