Moving Day - Timmy's New Neighbors

foreign [Music] this truck is a moving van it carries furniture and other belonging families that are moving from one place to another this man is loading the truck with the belongings of a family that is moving out of this apartment building the moving van has already been loaded with almost all the furniture this is timmy it is his family that is moving timmy and his family will travel many miles to a different town in father's briefcase there are pictures of the house where they will live in the new town place where dad will work dad will work in this factory he will be doing the kind of work he likes and he'll be earning a good salary too timmy's family will live in a house in the new town instead of an apartment but where is the new town the map will show us here is the city where timmy lives now this is the road they will follow to here their new town about 100 miles away moving is exciting and there were many things that the family had to do dad will check his list to see if everything has been done dad has told certain helpers not to come anymore helpers such as the milkman laundry man and newspaper boy the gas company electric company and telephone company have also been told that timmy and his parents are moving away mother wants to see if the telephone has been disconnected yes it has the phone will stay disconnected until another family moves into timmy's apartment and now the mover says that this table is the last piece of furniture to be loaded timmy will carry some of his special things himself in this box here in the box timmy has his model train and his rock collection mother is taking her favorite vase herself she knows the movers are very careful but you would rather not take any chances soon the exciting trip will begin in the suitcases are the clothes timmy's family will need before their other things are unpacked look there some of timmy's friends are coming to say goodbye they've brought him a going away present timmy likes to play baseball he hopes that he'll find new friends who play baseball timmy has not really lost his old friends they'll write letters to him it's time to go the moving van is all loaded now the movers will drive it to timmy's new home dad wants to get to their new home before the movers arrive goodbye goodbye they're on their way now timmy is beginning to think about his new home timmy has always lived in a city with large buildings and many people his new home is in a smaller town what will it be like this is the school where timmy used to go he had many friends here [Music] will he have as many friends in his new school [Music] here is a movie theater timmy often went to will there be a theater near his new home and will there be a store like this one where mother always bought her groceries what will his new town be like [Music] now they're getting near their new town look over there that's the place where dad will work timmy's new home is not far away here is their new town it really doesn't look as different as timmy thought it would now they're getting nearer to the place where timmy will live there aren't any large buildings but these houses look very nice look there's a movie theater just as timmy had hoped and there's a store where his mother can buy groceries this town isn't much different at all from where timmy used to live and there it is timmy's new home it looks even nicer than it did on the photograph timmy is excited they have finally arrived at their new house it seems like a very nice house how will it look inside the living room seems large and this will be timmy's room it is much larger than his old room there's even a chest of drawers built right into the wall that's something timmy didn't have in his old room it's going to be nice living here but there's more to see this is the kitchen it's not only as new as the one they had in their apartment but it's bigger mother will enjoy working here behind the house is the place where timmy will be able to play a backyard with a nice lawn and there are flowers too look there these people are timmy's new neighbors this is the walters family their boy's name is mike the walters have come to welcome timmy's family to the neighborhood moving is a lot of work and the walters want to help mrs walters is preparing a picnic lunch for all of them mike would like to show timmy the school lunch won't be ready for a while so timmy may go this is mr anderson the walters know him because he is from their church he has come to welcome timmy's family to the community mr anderson knew they were moving here because he received a letter from timmy's church in the city the moving van has finally arrived it will be fun watching the movers work when timmy gets back on the way to see the school timmy meets another new friend this is sue she has lived here only a short while but already she's made many friends she knows that timmy will also find many friends sue will go along with them to the school look there down the street there are stores just like the ones that are in the city where timmy used to live just ahead is the school the boys are playing with a baseball timmy will be able to play baseball here too just as he did where he used to live timmy knows you like going to this school these boys are friends of mike now they are friends of timmy too it's fun meeting new friends sue will introduce timmy to many more children when he goes to the school and so will mike now they'd better go back because lunch should be ready soon living in this town is going to be lots of fun for timmy the movers have finished dad and mother are pleased with the work the movers have done mother and dad and timmy too are happy that they have such nice neighbors mike is glad timmy's family moved next door because now he has a
