Moody Family at Deep Eddy Pool (1931-3)

These silent home movies capture scenes from the lives of the Moody family between 1931 and 1933, soon after Dan Moody’s second term as Governor of Texas. The family first travels from Tuscola to Abilene, Texas, to visit grandparents. The Moody children then splash and pose for the camera on a trip to Deep Eddy Pool in Austin. Back at their home on Woodlawn Boulevard in Austin, the kids swing, slide, and run around. A baby plays with a fluffy dog and has fun with a running garden hose. The film ends with a child’s birthday party.
