Molly's Pilgrim

A Russian-Jewish immigrant girl is ridiculed by her American classmates because of her ethnic differences. When she tries to make a Pilgrim doll for a Thanksgiving Day class assignment, her mother turns it into a Russian doll. To her mother, the Russian Jews are pilgrims, too, because they came to America for religious freedom. Expecting criticism of her doll, Molly is surprised by her classmates' sudden acceptance. Based on the children's book by Barbara Cohen.
