Complete Record: This silent film begins with a MLS of the pageant announcer speaking at a microphone podium, the contestants clap and the show begins. The swimsuit clad contestants of Miss California one by one strutting along a walkway and up a small set of stairs to a podium where they pause and pose briefly before moving on down the steps and off the walkway. There is one African American contestant. The footage is shot from below and the background consistently contains a beautiful clear blue sky and a large ferris wheel. The women then all walk the runway in one line together. The winner is announced, Lorna Anderson. Her sash is changed from Miss Sacramento to Miss California after which she is photographed by the press. She is presented with crown and flower bouquet as she stands atop the staircase podium. Finals shots of the film are at a different location. Now on a beach the shot zooms into a CU of the Santa Cruz Sentinel front page which lays on the sand. The headline announces Southern Alameda Wins pageant the shot then pans up to MS of the crowded beach before return down to the newspaper. The newspaper and the ferris wheel of the previous shot suggest that this pageant may have been held at the Santa Cruz Broadwalk
