Description: Survey of Australia’s mineral resources. Shows silver-lead-zinc mines at Broken Hill; copper-silver-lead-zinc mines at Mt Lyell in Tasmania; coal from the various mines of New South Wales; iron ore from South Australia and Yampi Sound to the blast furnaces at Newcastle, Port kembla and Whyalla; scheelite, from King Island in Bass Strait; oil from Exmouth Gulf, and radio-active minerals from Radium Hill. Modern methods of mineral detection are shown, including aerial surveying.
