Description: The story of Irish Catholicism and how it penetrates every facet of the life of the average Irishman. The regimented training and the role of the Catholic priest are documented and complaints by the laity against the clergy re reviewed. As Fr. Charles O' Malley makes his rounds visiting his parishioners and performing his priestly duties, he answers the criticisms explaining that it is not necessary to experience everything to understand it and that he and others like him are aware of changes taking place in Ireland. Despite the criticism, there are visible signs of devotion--the Irish primary school system is controlled almost entirely by the Church, and nearly three-fourths of the young priests are exported to other countries.
