This black and white film shows a May Day event at the John L. Berkeley Elementary School in Danville, Virginia. Likely shot around 1943. Scenes of the children dressed up for the May Day festivities and participating in outdoor events. The building, completed in 1910, served as Danville High School until fall 1927, when it became John L. Berkeley Elementary School. It remained in service from 1927 until its demolition in 1973.
