Samuel Clemens, or Mark Twain, is one of America's most widely known, yet least understood, authors. Actor Dan O'Herlihy portrays Twain and focuses on the tragedy or folly that often provoked his humor. Authentic dialogue and dramatized incidents from his fiction and his life illustrate the deep pessimism that formed a counterpoint to Twain's celebrated humor. A film by Marsha Jeffer and Larry Yust.
