Description: The Madison School Plan is a functional model for merging regular and special class programs. Traditional disability groupings are eliminated in favor of a Learning Center concept providing for education of exceptional children in a setting allowing the free flow of children between regular classes and the specialized Learning Center. In the Center there is continuous assessment of the dimensions of student readiness for regular class participation. The children's pre-academic and academic skill levels are evaluated and developed.
