Everyman" in Macbeth's words, "is the secret'st man of blood." Thus we cannot hate Macbeth, nor can we believe that his life signifies nothing, for there remains something sublime in him. Perhaps this capacity for good and evil within the same human heart sums up Shakespeare's message.
