0408 Life Is a Lark at Willow Grove Park 00 00 47 00

This brief color 16mm film captures a live musical performance, almost certainly at or associated with Willow Grove Park — a venue long celebrated for its concerts and entertainment. The footage is intimate and close-up: sampled frames show a Black male saxophonist playing with focused intensity against a bright pink studio-lit backdrop; a second frame reveals a female vocalist in a bold floral-patterned top performing alongside a male musician; a third shows a guitarist wearing dark sunglasses leaning into his instrument against the same burgundy-red stage setting; and a fourth returns to the woman vocalist mid-performance. Shot in color on what appears to be 16mm film, the style of clothing and lighting suggests a late 1950s to early 1970s timeframe. The film functions as a vivid fragment of a live jazz or R&B performance, preserving both the musicians' showmanship and the saturated warmth of the period's color film stock.
