Beginning with the time of the caveman, this witty, animated survey of leisure focuses on how man has used his leisure time: prehistoric man’s intermittent moments of play, the division of society into laboring and leisure classes, the separation of leisure from work and the increasing regimentation and departmentalization of free time activities. It suggests leisure is actually freedom of choice and that perhaps what man really wants is enough work to make leisure possible.
