Description: When a fire drill is not staged quickly enough, Mr. Barker's class decides to find out why. They attack the problem with an undirected approach until Mr. Barker points out how the language of mathematics will show them the proper manner in which to discuss the problem and solve it. After a review of the development of an efficient, mathematical language, the fire committee reports on its analysis of the problem, using precise terms.
