The KTLA newsfilm collection at the UCLA Film & Television Archive consists of cut and unedited stories, outtakes and fill footage, originally shot on 16mm reversal film stock with magnetic soundtrack. Some footage, particularly material not used for broadcast, may be without sound.

Title: “African American William C. Taylor of the Communist Party to run for Los Angeles County Supervisor.” Date: March 20, 1964.

Summary: William C. Taylor, an African American spokesman for the Communist Party, files papers to run against Kenneth Hahn for Los Angeles County Supervisor. Taylor states his campaign will emphasize "the right of representation of all minorities at all levels of government," and he will not hide the fact that he is a spokesman for the Communist Party. When asked about why he is running, Taylor talks about reforming property taxes and increasing the budget for social welfare. Footage includes an interview with Dorothy Healey, an activist in the Communist Party.
