Segment 1 (silent): Miss Santa Clara County beauty pageant. Shots of the swimsuit competition; two very brief shots of talent - one African American woman singing, and another woman doing a Hawaiian dance wearing a lei; the winners are announced and stand on stage hugging each other. Photographers crowd in front of the audience. One of the winners is Miss Mountain View. A man makes remarks at the podium with a woman standing next to him. Segment 2 (silent): Procession of young women wearing formal white dresses and carrying roses, on the arms of young men in suits, surrounded by a large crowd outdoors. This is followed by boys in suits with short pants and frilly collars, arriving on the scene in a horse-drawn cart. San Jose Mayor Ron James makes remarks at the microphone, followed by a woman wearing a white dress and "Queen" sash, holding a bouquet. Shot of a big outdoor crowd with carnival rides in the background lit up at night. The same woman walks through the crowd, wearing her "Queen" sash, and a cape, whose train is being held behind her.
