On July 30, 1960, Senators John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson addressed the press in a room of Joseph Kennedy’s summer house in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, just two weeks following the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles where the Kennedy - Johnson ticket had been formed. While the presidential campaign is touched on, most of the discussion at this meeting is about the legislative agenda for an upcoming Senate session.
