Description: Presents the story of the first three years of the biggest emergency aid effort for a single nation in history, and provides insight into international politics threatening its continued success. In 1979, Kampuchea (Cambodia) lay in ruins; two million people had died under the Pol Pot regime. Money had been abolished, schools and hospitals closed, food stocks destroyed. This film shows the efforts of the Kampuchean people and international aid agencies to rebuild the country. Interviewed are representatives of Church World Service, the Quakers, UNICEF, OXFAM and other groups.
