Description: Live-action, dramatic adaptation of the 1917 short story by Pulitzer prize winner Susan Glaspell, which uses the murder of a farmer as the backdrop for exploring the oppression of a farmwoman in 1905 rural America. The farmer's wife is accused of the murder and arrested. Two women, her neighbors, discover the incriminating clue which the sheriff and prosecuting attorney are searching for, and, unknown to the lawmen, act as the woman's sole jury.
