Complete Record: The story is based on a book by Jan Bale. The first section, in live action photography, shows the fishing village of Nazare. Joanjo is a little boy, all of whose family are fishermen. He plays amongst the nets, talks to the old men, watches the boats come in with their catch and the women go down to help unload them. But Joanjo is tired of a world centered on fish; he wants to go away to a more exciting life. He falls asleep and has a dream (shown in collage animation). In the dream he leaves the village for an inland town. There he becomes a shopkeeper, is elected first mayor, and then governor. When he decides to become king, he is arrested and tried, and condemned to be shot to the moon. He wakes up back in Nazare and decides that the life of a fisherman will suit him just fine.
