Description: Pieces from Ancient Egypt, China, Sumeria, Greece, Celtic Europe and Byzantium, and examples of the Gothic Renaissance, Elizabethan and Art Nouveau styles are shown. Old techniques for working gold are demonstrated. Also refers to the superstitious, mythological, cultural and religious influences on jewellery design and usage.
