Description: Jerusalem's 3,000-year-old Old City is the fountainhead of three major religions, the site of important archaeological discoveries, and home to 26,000 people of different cultural backgrounds. For Jews, the city's Western or Wailing Wall, a vestige of the Old Temple, is a holy landmark. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is venerated by the world's Christians. The Dome of the Rock is an important place of pilgrimage for those of the Moslem faith. These religious sites dominate the Christian, Moslem, and Jewish quarters of Jerusalem's walled enclave. This program examines the lives of some of the city's residents and the bonds that hold them to this richly historical area.
