Description: Here is the seldom seen beauty of early morning hours at the zoo, and the grace, dignity, and humor of its denizens. The film begins with the animals waking up and preparing to meet their audience, the public. The first visitors evoke amusing responses from the animals and this interchange between spectators and animals builds until the crowds engulf the zoo. Directed by John Camie and photographed at the St. Louis zoo, the award-winning film "Jazoo" illustrates how the film maker uses his basic resource--the visual image--without the use of words. These images are joined with an original jazz score to create a spectrum of moods and shapes.
