American schools present [Applause] 12th grade art today lesson 986 and now here's your television teacher Miss Edie hello all you good boys and girls way out there in television alive this is your television teacher Miss Edie with today's lesson now first let's take a look at this Edie's microphone is being naughty today now we want to look at all the items that you're going to need for this wonderful creative project first you'll have to buy some flowers you'll need some old newspaper water uh paint a bowl scissors some food coloring well you don't really need this um some Grease and a paintbrush We Begin by mixing our flour with our water and to get the amounts right which is so so so important I have a chart right over here that says how much flour to put with how much water as you can see you take one cup of water to one cup of flour to make one cup of paste or two cups of water to two cups of flour to make two cups of paste now oh well miss Eddie forgot to bring a cup along to mix the flour so you know what Miss Edie is going to use her hands there I think that's about a cup now we'll just add the water and mix it all up there now I I think that's just about the right consistency wow we'll just put this aside and go to work on our newspapers you you might just have a towel along too now then you must watch How I cut the newspaper into little strips and watch very carefully [Music] you can sing while you're cutting boys and girls the city will be through cutting off in just a minute now hey now then when it's all cut up we take our paper and put it in with our paste then mix it all up and now it's time to shape our dish so let's all go over to our shaping table oh but we want to take along our our paste and our brush don't we here's where you really start creating your little masterpiece and I know how very creative you're all going to be we know how much fun it is to work with our hands don't we boys and girls now let's see how we begin first we rub grease on our Bowl just like this foreign we lay our strips of paper over the bowl to shape what will be our very own creations then we put our paper on here right it certainly is exciting now while we wait for our little bowl to dry can you tell your old friend Miss Edie just what items you're going to need for this wonderful creative project I'm all ears good boys and girls now it's time to remove the hardened paste and paper from our bubble wow lucky here Miss Edie's dish isn't dry well you know what that means we'll just have to pretend it's dry of course your dish will be all nicely dried we'll decorate our candy dish now first you take your paint and mix it with water we'll just pretend we have paint to mix with our water then you can paint your dish any way you like isn't this going to be a candy dish that your mother would love to have in the living room well boys and girls I guess we're just about out of time this is Miss Edie reminding you all to be creative bye bye oh well miss Edie has another minute well isn't that nice boys and girls I I hope that you all remember all of the items that you need for this um wonderful creative project you need to or a paint and uh of a paper and a new old newspaper and a flower and and hasn't this been fun well goodbye bye I'm glad this is over [Music] [Applause] thank you [Music]
