Description: Pictures the various techniques found useful in collecting insects in theii natural habitats and suggests ways in which larval forms can be reared to produce adult specimens. Shows using a net to capture butterflies; beating a bush under which a sheet has been spread to catch falling insects; employing a light source directed against a sheet to attract nocturnal insects; and special techniques for collecting aquatic insects, microscopic insects, and insects found in decaying wood.
