Description: Dating to 1933, "In the Blackfoot Country" is a silent, short "natural color" travelogue that was produced by Dunning Process Company of Hollywood, California. Not much is known about Dunning, but they advertised this film in "American Cinematographer" magazine. This print has some heat damage, which caused the color dyes to separate, but it is still fairly vivid. The film starts with images of Glacier National Park, home of the Blackfoot Indians. At :41, "Signals are flashed that the dance is on", before a shot of a teepee and braves arriving on horseback to a campsite. At 1:07 a title card indicates that "A white boy is to be made a chieftan". The ceremony is shown at 1:13. At 1:20, a chief speaks to the camera, and braves pose, while the white tourist is initiated. At 2:00, "Two Gun White Calf" is introduced, with the title card stating his "image is on the Buffalo Nickel". More dancing is shown at 2:10 through the end of the film.
