Dating to 1932-33, this silent home movie shows various activities in the town of Poughkeepsie, New York, the county seat of Dutchess County. The film includes images of the firemen's parade, a visit by famed aviator Wiley Post, and political events including the campaign by William Donovan to become Governor of New York. The film begins with the offices of the town at :13, followed by the fireman's parade including firemen from Highland and other cities. At 1:01 a man sells balloons to spectators. At 2:16 the Wappingers Falls firemen are seen in the parade, and at 2:50 Fairview firemen walk in front of a Birney Safety trolley car. At 2:58, Pleasant Valley firemen are shown; at 3:16 a panel truck advertises for the Arlington High vs. Westchester, Massachusetts football game at 3 p.m. At 3:20, a sign on the rear of a car advertises that it will be given away as part of a fundraiser for the Arlington fire department on October 5th. At 5:04, a portly man, probably a politician or local labor leader, is shown. At 5:20, the scene shifts to the local airport. A Sikorsky S-38 amphibious aircraft is seen, followed by images of various men, possibly a business leaders group, at the airport. At 6;44, a Sikorsky S-38 amphibious airplane is shown. At 6:53, a sign advertises a BBQ at Washington Hollow in support of William Donovan, who was running for governor. A huge tent draped with American flags is seen, and enormous crowds in support of the candidate. At 8:30 the official car of Donovan approaches and he waves at the camera. At 10:18, a banner advertises the Republican ticket, with Herbert Hoover as President, William Donovan as Governor and Charles Curtis for Vice President. At 10:22 the Republican Party Headquarters is shown. At 10:25, another view of the building with a sign on top "Re-elect President Hoover and Vice President Curtis". At 10:30, a newspaper headline indicates 18,000 people showed up for the BBQ fundraiser. At 10:44, a group of women are shown on horseback. At 10:56, apparently shot in 1933 or 34, famed aviator Wiley Post flies his aircraft the Winnie Mae into the local airport (possibly Poughkeepsie but location is not known). At 11:36, Post poses in front of the aircraft and with the crowd that has come to see him. At 12:04 the Wiley Post Reception Committee car is identified with a placard. At 12:18, another fireman's parade, including at 13:19 the town of Kingston, NY. At 13:48, a movie crew is briefly shown in a horse paddock, with a large 35mm movie camera. At 14:12 another shot of the town of Poughkeepsie offices with Supervisor James Townsend. At 15:03, another large political rally is shown, at 15:39 another rally for Donovan for Governor is shown at the Nelson House Hotel. At 15:46, a movie theater marquee across the street advertises Shirley Temple in "Dimples".

William Joseph "Wild Bill" Donovan KBE was a soldier, lawyer, intelligence officer and diplomat best known for serving as the head of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the precursor to the Bureau of Intelligence and Research and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), during World War II. He is regarded as the founding father of the CIA, and a statue of him stands in the lobby of the CIA headquarters building in Langley, Virginia.
