something jelly fish summer wow how where we're not we're at Long Island where we went summer oh we we never go up there my aunt lives up there we never go up there why does you go up there does your aunt come down never I saw um we saw snapping turtle so I sand I picked up a sand shark and my sand they're like these fishes and they um they feel like sandpaper we found on this Turtle under our porch and so my brother really found them they saw two of them because they thought they they were fighting over one of these small turtle female e e no my her name is Linda we can describe Linda in many ways the color of her hair her eyes but how can we describe the kind of person she is how can we describe what made her the way she is or what will affect what she will become my other S I don't know she's probably yellow C you like makeup cat people part of what has helped make Linda who she is are the influences on every side of her what other people say what other people think and yet one of the truly important days in Linda's life will be when she does something not only because of what other people think but also because of what she [Music] thinks 3 minutes after 7 on wbn music time to help you back your old routine on a Monday back to school and work and what better sound could you wake up same voice the same music is waking up youngsters in thousands and thousands of homes across the state from a bag it's a Dr City to city in the wagon beers [Music] City according to TV commercials the toothpaste Linda uses will bring her great popularity TV commercials and magazine advertising insists that Gary is sure to become a professional athlete because he eats a certain brand named cereal Gary I hope you behave yourself in nursery school today and Linda please remember right after school pick him up not only advertising has an effect on Linda's life there are things her mother expects of Linda there are also things Linda expects of her mother hey Mom you didn't s my bell bottoms yet Linda I can't sell them for you now I'm busy I have to get to work for one day you can wear a dress you don't have to be the same as your [Music] friend hi hi Linda hi Linda where you B oh I got a ribon another pressure on Linda keeping up with the ways of her friend why you wear your other one the cleaner did you do your M homework last night yeah did you see that TV program [Music] [Applause] [Music] uhoh here Milly the C look at her hat oh it's weird Millie Mo in almost every town every neighborhood there is a Millie Moore the person who in One Way or Another is different and therefore in the eyes of some ridiculous hello girl what a nice hat you have oh you like it I bought it for my birthday last week birthday happy birthday thank you very much girl how would you like to come to a birthday party for me tomorrow we love to I'll bake an apple pie I have some of my own apples and then I've got about 10 different kinds of tea and we can have some cookies and some nuts and then we could play some games how does that sound yeah good then don't forget to come tomorrow around 4:00 all right okay bye bye don't forget now I'll see you tomorrow after school okay [Music] bye are you really going to go to ooh probably those apples in her apple P worms growing out them yeah probably [Music] from businesses make or lose large sums of money depending on how well they can respond to the tastes of people and that includes young people [Music] too and businesses do well if they can influence buying habits not only advertising affects our attitudes we're also influenced by songs we hear on radio and Records by stories we read in magazines and see on television and the movies [Music] all these help determine what styles people young and old will follow what fads they help add to the fun of being part of a [Music] group uh boys and girls are I'm a little upset because I gave you the assignment to uh to write on Columbus and there are a few of you who didn't do it and you know who you are don't you now Linda could you please read your story for us okay a few weeks P I got man doctor another influence on Linda school she must write acceptable compositions give correct answers behave in approved way the Seas were rough many weeks past then a s Sailors shouted land land this land is America and we found Indians you did a beautiful job with that yes there are many pressures on Linda all the things but where do these end and where does what Linda feels and thinks begin [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Pat I don't know how I'm going to get to Millie's party because I have to take care of my brother oh who wants to go to Z C's party well we promised during a promise is a promise come on we don't really have to go any she probably forgot about it hey how about going to the pizza parlor with me today I can't I have to take care of my brother oh your brother [Music] hi there are you coming tomorrow don't forget [Music] Linda I'm surprised Mellie Moore invited you and the girls to her house from what I hear she's a very strange person I'm sure she's a nice person and I wouldn't mind you going to her house anyway you can't go tomorrow because you have to pick up Gary after Nursery School Pat says that she'll forget about it but I'm sure she made pies and cakes and things already and she said she was going to have t different kinds of tea Linda why don't you go down and tell Millie Moore that you can't come if you feel that way then no one will show up well in that case you're going to have to decide for your own self what you're going to do [Music] [Music] [Music] Linda hi see you got your bell bottom fixed yeah my mother sub them last night oh brother I can't wait I got to tell my mother to buy me here like that they're pretty you have very many winter clothes [Music] yeah e [Music] w [Music] do you have to take care of your brother again yeah oh because we were planning to go over to Sheila's house today and listen to her record but what about Millie oh who wants to go to that c party all she talks about is Gardens and stuff like that Pat she probably made cakes and Poes and things already listen are you her friends or ours we're not going [Music] I'm for [Music] [Music] [Music] please come to your party [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all of us live in a world where there are many pressures many expectations from many people but also there must be the expectations one has from one's own [Music] self can you think of the times when you too should have had the courage to listen to your own inner voice The Voice in you that says this is what I think [Music] oh [Music]
