How Machines and Tools Help Us

Explains how machines make work easier as Jack and his father build a brick fireplace. Shows Jack's father getting two "helpers" to aid in the construction - a plank and a wheelbarrow - and describes the operation of the lever principle and the inclined plane. Demonstrates other "helpers," including the hammer, pulley, water wheels, boat sails, automobiles, and airplanes.
